April Favourites!

Just like that, April has whizzed straight past us and we’re now well in to May. Time seems to be going at warp speed for me at the moment which is great in some ways as my partner Andy is currently working away and has been for the past three weeks (we have another five/six/seven to go). In that sense, I really don’t mind the weeks flying by but, on the other hand, Holly is now nine weeks old and growing like crazy so I’d like that to slow down please!

ANYWAY, enough jibber jabber, here is a round up of the things I’ve been loving this month.

Podcast – Alan Carr’s ‘Life’s a Beach’ . I’ve been trying to get out a bit more and to accompany my walks with Holly, I like to listen to a podcast. This month I have been loving Alan Carr’s podcast – basically he has a celebrity guest and he interviews them talking mostly about holidays and all that comes with them: airports, flights, packing! I have loved hearing about holiday destinations from a celebrity perspective as sometimes they are very different from what I have (and probably will ever) experience(d) but it’s also very cool when you hear Robbie Williams talking about staying in a caravan as a child. Thumbs up from me – Castbox Podcast App

Film‘Trolls World Tour’. Yes I am thirty one but I love a good animation and this one is like chocolate milkshake for your soul – guaranteed happiness. I love both Trolls movies as they are so uplifting, the music is fab and the colours are beautiful. Holly also loved this one – NOW TV

TV Show‘Game of Talents’ with Vernon Kay. There’s something about a Saturday night gameshow that reminds me of being a kid. I think it’s because I grew up watching the best Saturday night telly ever – Blind Date, Noel’s House Party and Gladiators to name a few and although nothing can beat those nostalgic gems, this one comes pretty close for me. Two players each take turns trying to guess the talent of a pool of guests by watching videos and through hidden clues. They are given a list of talents that it could be and each correct guess wins a random amount of money for the player’s pot. Vernon adds nothing to the show (they could’ve got someone alot cheaper to present it haha) but it’s a really easy watch and a bit of fun because you get to play along – ITV

ProductSunmay Leaf Cleansing Brush. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, I am looking ROUGH at the minute. Being pregnant and now this being a Mam thing…it’s taken it’s toll folks. I’m trying my best but honestly, I’m not looking too clever. But guess what, it’s okay because I’m slowly making a difference to my skin by chucking on a facemask when I can and using this little miracle worker. I’ve posted about this before on my personal facebook page but it’s really good. It has two sides for different levels of exfoliation and I really feel like this wakes my skin up. Each time I use it, I go from looking like a dusty old cabinet to looking like a shiny new one that’s just had a coat of polish. Plus it’s much cheaper than the big branded ones which can be £100+! – Amazon* (affiliate link)

TreatSkinny Whips. You can get these cereal/chocolate bars from loads of places but I tend to get them from Asda or Iceland. Generally they are £1.00 for five bars and they are ninety-nine calories each. Oh my word, they are beautiful! They are such a nice texture too – a bit like firmer marshmallow. They come in loads of different flavours and they are keeping me alive at the minute as sometimes I am so starving but so is Holly (and she can scream louder than me) so I quickly shove one of these in my mouth and while I feed little one – Iceland

FoodIceland Meals in a Bag. Another thing that is saving my life at the present (not that I’m dramatic) is these frozen meals from Iceland. There’s over ten different meals and they say they serve two but you can stretch these to three portions if you serve them with something else – chips, garlic bread or veg. They’re pretty cheap aswell considering the size at only £2.50 a bag and aren’t too unhealthy. I’ve tried quite a few of them and they have a lot of veg packed into the bags. They’re handy to have in as a standby or if you’re short on time, so give them a whirl. Oh and extra points awarded to Iceland as most can be done in the microwave! – Iceland

That’s all for April, look out for my next batch of favourites for May!
