February Favourites
Hey all! Thought I’d do a little round of the things I’ve been loving each month including tv series, films, products, podcasts and more. My recommendations might inspire you to find something good to watch, eat or listen to so read on for February’s best bits.
Podcast – ‘Making The Cut’ with Davina McCall & Michael Douglass. I’ve recently discovered this podcast and I wasn’t really sure what it was about as the description is very vague but basically Davina and Michael review things. That sounds boring but if you’re a nosey person like me, you’ll love it. They discuss TV shows, products, food and a whole host of other things – it’s basically a podcast of recommendations. The structure is a little weird in that there isn’t really a structure, the two of them just talk about one thing then move on to something else but well worth a listen if you fancy something a bit chatty – Castbox Podcast App
Film – ‘The Greatest Showman‘ starring Hugh Jackman. I absolutely love this film, it’s jam packed with all of the feel good songs and uplifting messages. If you’ve never seen it, watch it. If you aren’t a fan of musicals push past the first part I promise you it’s worth it.
TV Show – I’m absolutely gutted it’s finished but ‘The Masked Singer’ ITV was definitely my favourite programme for February. I loved trying to guess who the celebrities were and hearing the ridiculous things the judges come out with. When I first heard about this show I thought it was crackers and you know what, it is but I’ve really enjoyed it. Saturday nights will feel a bit bare now until the next thing gets me hooked.
Product – Coconut Oil. I’ve been using Lucy Bees coconut oil from Asda for about a month but it doesn’t really matter what brand you use. This stuff is so good for dry skin and it doesn’t leave you feeling slimy or tacky like some oils and moisturisers. It really sinks in and has been great for my pregnant belly. Thumbs up from me.
Treat – A good old soak in the bath. It’s so cold and dark on a night now, there’s truly nothing better than a hot bath. With lockdown still firmly in place, there’s nowhere to go, nothing to do and I for one am not going out walking the pavements in the dark so a bath and a podcast is my evening activity of choice.
Food – Beans on toast. Comforting, warm and easy to make. Do I have to say anymore?
That’s all for February, look out for my next edit in March!
